How it works

1.Go to delegate.xyz, connect your cold wallet on the target chain, and set your hot wallet as the delegate. One on-chain transaction from your cold wallet.

2.Come back here, connect your hot wallet, expand the chain below, and paste your cold wallet address. SlabForge reads the on-chain registry to confirm the delegation.

3.Done. Your hot wallet can now grade any NFT your cold wallet holds on that chain. SlabForge re-checks the on-chain registry live on every attempt.

How it works

1.Connect your hot wallet above.

2.Expand a chain below and click Connect Cold Wallet. Your cold wallet connects to sign a one-time message. Not a transaction, no fees, nothing sent to any blockchain.

3.SlabForge verifies the signature and stores the verified link server-side. Every time you grade, we check in real time that your cold wallet still owns the NFT. If the NFT has been sold or moved, grading is blocked automatically.

Security & transparency

✓SlabForge has zero ability to touch your NFTs. We cannot transfer, sell, list, burn, or interact with them in any way. The only thing we do is check in real time that your cold wallet still owns the NFT before allowing a grade.

✓Your private key never leaves your device. Your cold wallet signs a short text message, not a transaction. Think of it like signing a document that says "I authorize my hot wallet to grade NFTs on my behalf on SlabForge." Your wallet uses your private key internally to create the signature and never shares it with anyone, including us.

✓The link is server-side only. Nothing about this delegation is recorded on any blockchain. We store the verified connection on our server. If you revoke it, it is gone instantly and permanently.

✓Connecting a wallet is harmless. During setup, your cold wallet briefly connects to sign the message. Connecting to a website only reveals your public wallet address, which is already visible on the blockchain. It does not grant any access to your funds.

✓The network shown during signing does not need to match the chain you are delegating. Signing a message is purely cryptographic and works identically on any network. Your wallet may show Ethereum or whatever chain you currently have selected, that is normal and expected. The message itself specifies which chain the delegation is for.

Good to know

Why this exists: Many NFT collectors store their most valuable NFTs in a cold wallet for security, but connecting it to websites regularly creates unnecessary exposure. On Ethereum and 15 other chains, tools like delegate.xyz solve this with a trustless on-chain registry. These 8 chains are not yet supported by delegate.xyz. We built this feature to fill that gap, so your NFTs stay safely in cold storage while you use SlabForge with a separate hot wallet. The moment delegate.xyz adds support for any of these chains, we will add them to the on-chain section instantly.

delegate.xyz is trustless: SlabForge reads the registry live on every grade attempt. If your cold wallet revokes the delegation on delegate.xyz, access is removed on the next attempt automatically.

Signed message delegation: For chains without delegate.xyz support, SlabForge verifies the one-time signature from your cold wallet and stores the verified link server-side. You can unlink at any time from this page.

Different cold wallets per chain: Your Ethereum NFTs might be on a Ledger, your Base collection on a different device. Fully supported. Each chain link is independent and can point to a different cold wallet address.
